The Maintenance Technician is a skilled technical position that ensures the operational efficiency and safety of the corporate campus.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks according to the corporate campus strategic maintenance plan
  • Efficiently execute corrective repairs within the work order system, ensuring all assignments are completed by their designated deadlines
  • Responding promptly to emergency maintenance requests and determining when to call specialists when something is outside of your scope
  • Monitor and maintain the performance of equipment through the Building Automation System (BAS)
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the building, including exterior grounds
  • Perform building inspections multiple times per shift
  • Diagnose problems within the various building systems with diagnostic tools and manuals
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and parts inventory
  • Recommend modifications to operate building systems at peak efficiency and within code requirements
  • Setup and breakdown of event equipment
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 emergency response for system alarms, technical malfunctions, and urgent facility needs
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate
  • Ability to understand and adhere to company policies along with federal, state, and local codes and statutes
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and a thorough working knowledge of mechanics, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical distribution
  • Possess high level of problem-solving skills including the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues affecting equipment or facility operations
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, work on ladders, and work in varied environments
  • Excellent tool dexterity and knowledge as it relates to the operation and care of hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades
  • Working knowledge of the safe practices, materials, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment
  • Read, interpret, and work from architectural and electrical diagrams, schematics, drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
  • Operate hi-lifts and utilize ladders and scaffolding including setup and maintenance.
  • Positive team member willing to ensure effective communication with leadership and team members. Demonstrates a proficient ability to communicate with customers responding to various facility repairs and requests. Comfortable in communicating with vendors in a range of maintenance needs and status of completion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. A certificate or diploma from a qualified educational institution or union equivalent program is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in the installation, construction, maintenance, or repair of HVAC and control systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • While generally a weekday-day shift, this role often requires on-call availability for emergencies, weekends, or holidays
  • Work in a team environment and independently without direct supervision
  • Interpret and follow federal, state, and local codes and statutes
  • Valid Illinois vehicle driver’s license and proof of insurability

Compensation Information:

The compensation for the role is paid hourly at a range of $33.00 - $38.00 per hour.
