
Service Technician - Industrial Equipment & Automation Division

Job Description:
This role is responsible for providing excellent technical customer support for troubleshooting welding systems and administering the warranty for the Industrial Equipment & Automation Division.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Handling phone calls and other electronic communication on a repetitive basis relating to the service, repair, and basic application of Industrial Equipment product.
- Creating warranty claims in the warranty application to accurately document warranty situations.
- Repair and test equipment returned from the field.
- Participate in product development teams and product support projects.
- Assist product engineering in evaluation of returned equipment to continually improve reliability and warranty.
- Provide advice to our service partners for repair and equipment recommendations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology or in the final stages of completion of stated degrees.
- Completed certificate credits in Automation Maintenance, Industrial Controls or Industrial Networking Communications is a plus.
- Experience in industrial automation networking.
- Strength in customer service with demonstrated troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Clear oral and written communication skills to work professionally with customers within the guidelines of the Industrial Equipment Division and Miller warranty policies are essential.
- Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Internet programs.
- Candidate must be willing to travel on occasion; at times this could be short notice, for technical customer support or training in IE products.
- Self-starting, determined, team player possessing the ability to make independent decisions and follow through to completion.
- Welding systems product knowledge is a plus, but not required.
