How you will make an impact:
Product Development and Optimization:
As a Welding Engineer at Miller Electric, you will focus on new product development and sustaining initiatives to provide optimum solutions utilizing tools such as oscilloscopes and PC-based software programs.
- Evaluate welding arc performance for commercial welding power supplies.
- Optimize welding arcs for GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, and SMAW processes.
- Develop welding related solutions for customer challenges and issues.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Welding Engineers are heavily involved in all stages of New Product Development and sustaining initiatives, sharing knowledge to guide our team to success.
- Partner with various levels of the organization, including production, engineering, marketing, and leadership to identify, strategize, and bring to life the latest and greatest welding products to the market.
- Support cross-functional team members with advanced customer applications and challenges.
What you need to do to be successful:
- Technical Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of GMAW, GMAW-P, GTAW, and SMAW welding processes, techniques, and settings. Basic understanding of electricity and how the variables impact the arc performance and the weldment.
- Strong Communicator: Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills in order to relate to all customers, technical, and non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Self-Starter: Ability to learn quickly, work independently with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-Accountability: Demonstrated positive attitude, high motivation, and a strong sense of personal accountability.
- Professional Growth Minded: Willingness to invest in personal and professional development, with potential for growth within the organization.
- Flexibility to Travel: Up to 25% travel required.
Welding Engineer
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Welding Engineering (BSWE) or Bachelor of Science Welding Engineering Technology (BSWET) degree required)
- Minimum 3+ years welding engineering experience preferred, that includes experience in manufacturing.
Sr Welding Engineer
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Welding Engineering (BSWE) or Bachelor of Science Welding Engineering Technology (BSWET) degree required
- 7+ years weld engineering experience preferred.
