Job Description:
The Shipping Associate will work with a team of 6-8 other people pulling/picking orders, ensuring quality and timeliness of all shipped products. Ship items globally using the proper processes and paperwork to make it through customs and other countries' qualifiers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Pick customer orders and packing slips in priority indicated by Supervisor.
2. Pack product for shipment according to specifications, transportation methods, and routes of travel.
3. Properly label each box and/or pallet to also include identification and labeling of hazardous materials.
4. Accurately complete all paperwork (pick tickets, packing lists)
5. Load shipments into designated conveyance.
6. Indicate any stock-out items on the pick tickets and packing lists by established methods.
7. Return parts to warehouse locations as necessary.
8. Verify manifest and/or bill of lading with driver for outbound shipments.
9. Locate and warehouse raw materials, work in process and finished goods as necessary.
10. Load and verify items and counts of raw material and work in process to be sent to vendors and other company locations.
11. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- -1 Year previous shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse environment
- Preferred previous experience shipping items internationally and has completed training on international shipping needs
- Detail oriented with ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Ability to communicate and follow instructions.
- Must have good computer skills.
- Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
- Licensed forklift truck operator preferred.
- Hazmat certified preferred.
