ITW Heartland began in 1976 as a small fabrication shop to serve customers with big expectations. Heartland learned to excel at addressing complex component machining and evolved to a vibrant single source manufacturing company, supplying full machines and services around the world. Heartland’s success over the years can be attributed to reliable and consistent partnering with our customers and vendors. ITW Heartland has been a Division of Illinois Tool Works since 1982.
Position Summary: To meet customer’s expectations and requirements by operating all machines in a production cell with little or no assistance while meeting or exceeding standards for quality, productivity, and safety.
Job Duties:
Inspects own work to prints and uses time management skills.
Maximizes set-ups and tooling of present and future jobs, utilizes cycle time for additional operations and works at a speed necessary to exceed rates the majority of the time.
Maintains an exceptional level of quality according to standards on all parts.
Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement.
Performs some preventive and corrective maintenance duties as requested. May assist in training cell personnel when asked to do so.
Meets safety and good 5S practices.
Follow all quality procedures and achieve line of sight requirements.
Able to work within a team.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar shop setting
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ability to load a part into a machine, run the machine, remove the part and inspect.
Must meet quality expectations.
Performs preventive maintenance.
Good Communication Skills
Regular and consistent attendance

Standing 10 hours per day (out of 10 hour workday) but may work 10-12 hours per day
Walk up to 2 hours per day
Bend, squat (to check parts)

Reach out from body up to 24 inches holding up to 20 pounds
Hand grasping
Finger manipulation
Push up to 36 lbs. Force (carts, pallet jack)
Lift at waist level up to 24 lbs. frequently/up to 50 lbs.
Carry up to 35 lbs. (parts and tools) 20 feet occasionally, 100 feet
Lift to/from floor level (parts) 50 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
Moving objects - slight forklift traffic
Noise level - slight machine noise

Compensation Information:
The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is: $25.00 – $33.00 (hourly).
