In-Person Hiring Events - Customer Service
The IRS is hiring mission-critical, entry-level customer service positions in 8 locations. These roles offer a unique, non-repetitive workday that showcase your verbal and written communication skills while offering rewarding public service opportunities.
Contact Representatives
As an Contact Representative, you will research multiple computer-based systems and resources to provide tax-related assistance to Americans over the phone.
Tax Examining Technicians
As a Tax Examining Technician, you will analyze and resolve tax processing problems, adjusts taxpayer accounts, and respond to taxpayer’s inquiries regarding preparation of a variety of tax returns and related schedules.

We are hosting several virtual information sessions to give you a chance to learn about the positions before you apply and attend an event. We'll discuss everything you need to know about the day-to-day duties, what skills, knowledge and abilities we are looking for, and how to apply - including writing an effective federal resume.
