Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial leader to establish and scale our Global Business Services (GBS) Hub in Portugal.
This role goes beyond a traditional Shared Service Center: the hub will combine operational GBS service delivery with the systematic build-up of critical business capabilities, supporting Voith’s long-term competitiveness and transformation agenda.
Your Role
- Lead the setup, ramp-up, and management of the GBS Hub in Portugal as part of the global GBS organization.
- Establish the hub as a dual-value platform, delivering both: high-quality GBS services and scalable, functional and business capabilities
- Hire, onboard and manage a team of professionals, develop local talents and foster a high-performance culture, with strong focus on talent development and capability growth.
- Develop and maintain RACI frameworks, SLA agreements, and KPI-based performance management systems, including continuous improvement tracking.
- Drive End-to-End processes, continuous improvement, automation, and innovation within the Global Business Service Center.
- Continuously expand scope, capabilities, and value contribution in close collaboration with business functions and divisions.
- Ensure robust risk management, compliance, and governance
- Report to SVP Global Business Services and senior management on the performance and progress of the Global Business Service Center Hub.
- Represent the center in GBS leadership forums and initiatives.
Scope of the GBS Hub Portugal
The hub will cover a broad spectrum of GBS services and business capabilities, including but not limited to:
- Finance & controlling services.
- HR services.
- Customer service and commercial support.
- Operational support services.
- Project management and value management support.
- Compliance and governance services.
- Data, analytics, and business intelligence support.
All services and capabilities will be implemented in a phased approach, ensuring close alignment with business priorities and sustainable scaling over time.
Your Profile
- 10+ years of experience in building and managing Shared Service Centers, GBS organizations, or comparable hubs.
- Proven track record in scaling operations and driving efficiency improvements.
- Strong experience in in developing capabilities beyond transactional services.
- Experience in digitization, automation, and transformation is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and hands-on mentality.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across functions and regions.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese; additional European languages are a plus.
