Job Description
Rockdale County Public Schools is seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Adjunct Orchestra Teacher for the 2026�2027 school year. This position will serve both a middle school and a high school orchestra program, providing instruction to mixed-level, mixed-grade ensembles.
The selected candidate will teach orchestra classes during the first period of the school day at each school on alternating days. Classes will include students with a range of experience levels, requiring differentiated instruction to support both developing and advanced musicians.
Duties
The adjunct orchestra teacher will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction for mixed-level orchestra classes
- Select and adapt appropriate repertoire to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Support the development of instrumental technique, ensemble skills, and music literacy
- Assess and document student progress
- Collaborate with school faculty and fine arts staff as needed to support program goals
Hours and Rate of Pay
- Hours: 10 hours per week (2 hours per day, serving one school per day on an alternating schedule)
- Schedule: First period classes at the middle and high school on alternating days
- Rate of Pay: $30.00 per hour
To be considered, candidates must hold a certificate in Music Education issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission AND must have ALREADY passed the GACE in the required field.
