We’re seeking a Lead Artist to lead Shop and Reliquary art content for Diablo IV, supporting the delivery of high‑quality live commerce experiences. This role focuses on creative leadership, cross‑discipline partnership, and execution within a fast‑moving live‑game environment, bringing a strong artistic point of view and passion for Diablo to everything shipped.
This role offers a flexible hybrid work week, with a mix of remote and on-site days. While hybrid is the standard arrangement, you're also welcome to work on-site full-time if you prefer. Our primary studio locations are in Albany, NY, and Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
Champion the artistic vision and partner with Art Direction and cross‑functional partners, including Product, to push creative boundaries while balancing big‑picture thinking with attention to detail.
Create engaging content for a live game while working within available and evolving resources.
Deliver high‑quality art content for live commerce experiences.
Manage scope, scheduling, and resources within an evolving live‑game pipeline, serving as a strong advocate for department art leads.
Partner closely with production to manage priorities and respond to the evolving needs of a live player base.
Lead, motivate, and support the Shop Art Team, navigating ambiguity and adapting to the changing needs of different development phases.
Minimum Requirements
8+ years of experience working on AAA games for major platforms, including 1+ years in a lead or people‑management role.
Strong passion for game development with excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across a multidisciplinary art team.
Demonstrated experience with modern game art pipelines, tools, and production processes, ideally within a live‑service environment.
Proficiency with contemporary game authoring techniques and real‑time workflows
Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical and creative challenges related to building art for game features.
Experience providing feedback, mentorship, and guidance to artists while maintaining a high creative and quality bar.
Bonus Points
Hands‑on expertise in one or more related disciplines, such as illustration, modeling, rigging, VFX, technical art, or 2D animation
Experience guiding artists across multiple disciplines and levels.
Experience balancing creative direction with production realities
