Description
The selected intern will support the Performance Analysis and CBTC Operations and Development Department. Within Performance Analysis, the intern will work with critical internal train performance data to help identify trends, improve service reliability, and support data-driven decision-making. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with the CBTC Operations team, which oversees projects related to CBTC technology—a system that continuously monitors and manages train movement to enhance operational efficiency and service performance.
- Perform administrative tasks assigned by management.
- Track meeting discussions and provide detailed notes.
- Perform general data entry in Excel and other applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and discrepancies across multiple databases.
- Assist with cleaning and formatting data in Excel and other tools.
- Analyze and validate data errors within internal systems.
- Import and extract data from Access databases and internal systems such as ITRAC, STARS, and IRails.
- Develop and support reporting tools to display internal data and key performance metrics.
- Willingness to perform administrative and other assigned tasks as needed.
- Develop and maintain dashboards to communicate operational activities and support reporting needs.
- Assist in creating automation and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks.
- Support management in tracking and monitoring upcoming internal projects and general work in the field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must, including PowerApps, Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft Lists.
- The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
- Basic understanding of database structures and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of data visualization techniques and report creation
- Matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA
- Major(s) Preferred: Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
