Job Description
There are Extended Learning opportunities - Summer Lessons for Band/Orchestra/Piano for Mansfield Senior High, Middle School, and Malabar Intermediate School.
In-person instruction/intervention will be developed and delivered at the school using approved strategies and tools for grades 4-12. The rate is $32.76 per hour for up to 150 hours per week.
Listed below are some duties, responsibilities and requirements for this position:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Accredited college/university degree.
Valid Ohio certification for grades PreK-12.
JOB OBJECTIVE (S):
To provide the instruction, motivation and encouragement that will enable the students to fulfill their optimum potential and achieve at the highest level.
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Student Support Programs or their designee
DUTIES/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education, goals, and objectives.
Implement and maintain the approved course of study.
Be regular and punctual in attendance.
Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
Establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers, as well as supervisory personnel.
Provide for the safety and welfare of students and staff.
Maintain confidentiality with regard to information about students, staff, and parents.
Help foster desirable relations between the school and community.
Plan and provide appropriate instruction for the students assigned to his/her class(es).
Prepare and maintain long-term and daily lesson plans describing the objectives and activities that directly relate to the Board adopted curriculum.
Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
Exhibit responsibility in maintaining proper building disciplinary procedures.
Maintain appropriate student discipline and a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning student academic and behavioral progress.
Perform other reasonably related duties as may be assigned by the building administration or their designee..
Conduct: Each staff member shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled
substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
Each staff member shall serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
Each staff member has a moral responsibility to help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
