Job Description
The Revenue Assurance Graduate Programme within Standard Bank Connect is designed to provide high-potential graduates with hands-on experience in identifying, analysing, and preventing revenue leakage within the organisation. Anchored within the Revenue Assurance team, the programme introduces participants to the critical financial and operational processes that enable accurate billing, strong data integrity, and sustainable financial performance.
Through structured and practical exposure to billing systems, advanced data analysis tools, and cross-functional workflows, graduates develop a comprehensive understanding of how revenue flows across the business. The programme emphasises the importance of effective controls and governance frameworks in safeguarding revenue and ensuring alignment with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
The purpose of the programme is to develop strong foundational and future-ready capabilities in revenue assurance. Graduates engage in real operational scenarios, including data reconciliation, anomaly detection, financial validation, and process optimisation. This immersive experience equips participants with the analytical, technical, and commercial skills required to contribute meaningfully in a complex business environment.
Graduates will work closely with the Standard Bank Connect Revenue Assurance team to support the integrity of customer usage, charging, billing, and reporting processes. This collaboration ensures that business operations remain accurate, transparent, and aligned to organisational objectives.
Overall, the programme is designed to accelerate the transition from academic learning to professional impact, positioning graduates to contribute to financial governance, operational excellence, and long-term business sustainability within Standard Bank Connect.
Key responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, cleanse, and analyse large and complex data sets related to billing, invoicing, and customer usage.
- Identify anomalies, discrepancies, and potential revenue risks through structured analysis.
- Prepare-high quality weekly and monthly revenue assurance reports that support business insights and decision-making.
Billing and Usage Validation:
- Validate system-generated billing outputs against actual customer usage, and transactional data.
- Support reconciliation processes across subscriber accounts, product usage, and transaction logs.
- Contribute to ensuring accurate charging and the minimisation of revenue leakage.
Process Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor key revenue assurance processes including provisioning, rating, and billing to ensure operational integrity.
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and control weaknesses and recommend practical improvements.
- Support the design and implementation of preventative controls to mitigate future revenue leakage risks.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with finance, technology, billing, and customer support teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance processes.
- Support the investigation and resolution of customer queries and complaints related to billing and charges.
- Participate in cross-functional forums to understand operational challenges and revenue-impacting issues.
System Testing and Validation:
- Support the testing of new billing system functionalities and configuration changes.
- Validate system updates to ensure accuracy and minimise revenue risk prior to implementation.
- Identify and escalate potential risks associated with system changes, enhancements, or migrations.
Compliance and Audit Support:
- Assist with internal and external audit activities related to revenue assurance.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation to support audit requirements and governance standards.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Revenue Leakage Identification and Prevention:
- Analyse data to identify patterns, trends, and root causes of unbilled or lost revenue.
- Work collaboratively with the Revenue Assurance team to implement recovery and prevention measures.
- Contribute to strengthening the control environment and improving revenue protection mechanisms.
Research, Innovation and Ad hoc Delivery:
- Conduct research on emerging revenue assurance practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Prepare clear and professional presentations and insight summaries for stakeholders and management.
- Support strategic initiatives focused on automation, advanced analytics, and continuous improvement.

Completed Undergraduate within 2 years or Postgraduate qualification (recently completed or completing in 2026):

Additional Information
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Should you have work experience, it should not exceed 12 months.
