Job Description

The Senior Employee Relations Consultant will act as a trusted partner to the business, providing expert guidance on complex initiatives, grievances, disciplinary matters, and investigations, while also managing and delivering on high-stakes litigation at the CCMA and Labour Court; in this pivotal role, the Consultant will collaborate closely with senior leaders to shape and implement Employee Relations and People & Culture strategies that support a fast-paced growth environment, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, mitigating risk, and fostering a culture of fairness, accountability, and transparency across the organisation.

5-7 years
Evidence of having fostered a network of internal and external stakeholders with a demonstrated ability to build constructive relationships. Excellent conflict resolution, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence and discretion in handling sensitive information.

8-10 years

  • Extensive understanding of the entire P&C Value Chain, specifically the role of ER as a lever to create and maintain a healthy workplace that is fair and equitable. Track record in providing advisory services and leading initiatives across complex environments and geographies. A further qualification in conciliation and arbitration will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in the provision of guidance and insight pertaining to the drafting, vetting, review, dissemination and/or negotiation of legal documentation and processes of a complex nature. Identification and mitigation of legal risks.
