Job Purpose Ensure the effective operation of the Layer Pick facility by monitoring and managing the computer-based Material Flow Control System (MFCS) and physically correcting issues with the Material Handling Equipment (MHE). To assist in system flow improvements, help cover vacation. Maintain a professional culture on site and a commitment to Health Safety, in line with company values. Key Result Areas Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Pallet flow and automated processes are controlled and executed according to plan. Utilize automation system to effectively pick layers of product to customer specifications. Any issues with the MFCS are resolved in a safe and timely manner. To objectively give reviews on Layer Pick team’s performance. Responsible for the proper, complete and safe operation of the automated material flow control system and material handling equipment in the facility Communicating MFCS problems to Team Members Ensuring the MHE is operated according to SOPs and supplier guidelines Training new, current, and other Layer Pick associates in GLA, MLS, Corax (WMS), and basic trouble shooting skills. Monitor and manage the automated computer-based control system for smooth picking of Customers orders. Safety analysis of the system. Maintain the filling rate to an acceptable level, and train others on how to achieve this. Assist in facilitating vacation coverage, cleaning, and certifications for Layer Pick associates. Maintain Inventory accuracy within the storage area of Layer Pick facility and provide solutions for correction Consistently strive to making improvements to the production flow and the system. Troubleshoot problems that interrupt automated flow by physically investigating and taking corrective action. Manually control the operation of conveyors and other material handling equipment when necessary. Notify Maintenance Technicians of any equipment needing maintenance or repair and assist team if required. Ensure actions are executed in compliance with OSHA, FSDA requirements, and all other company policies to maintain a safe working environment. Act in line with agreed procedures for ensuring the quality of product is always maintained in line with customer requirements. Coordinate with Planners and Maintenance Technicians to ensure any problems are accounted for and resolved with minimal impact to normal operations. Complete Shift Handover reports. Make sure shifts are staffed up for the flows. Help facilitate information between shifts. Requirements: Education, Experience and Physical demands Experience Requirements 2+ years of work experience in related fields preferred 5+ years of leadership experience Experience with operating Material Flow Control Systems (e.g. automated conveyors,) or Industrial Control Systems preferred Strong computer skills Physical Demands Must be in good physical condition Must be able to lift 50lbs Must be able to work effectively in cold freezer environment Must be able to climb 120ft ladder using safety harness In compliance with OSHA regulations and manufacturer safety specifications, fall protection equipment rated for a maximum capacity of 310 lbs (including body weight, cold gear, 30 lbs SCBA pack, and tools) must be used for tasks performed at height.
