Description
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will analyze processes, lead improvement initiatives, and support implementation of data-driven solutions while assisting this Business Continuous Improvement Department as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and increasing productivity across operations
- Analyze manufacturing and business processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement process improvements using Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for operational issues
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to improve workflows and performance
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to support improvement initiatives and decision-making
- Develop process maps, workflow documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including cycle time, throughput, labor efficiency, and OEE
- Lead Kaizen events, process improvement workshops, and cross-functional projects
- Support automation and digitalization initiatives to improve operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities to standardize processes and improve consistency across departments
- Assist in capacity planning, labor optimization, and workflow balancing activities
- Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate project performance and improvement results
- Train and support employees on continuous improvement tools, methodologies, and best practices
- Support implementation and sustainment of 5S and visual management initiatives
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or related field required
- 2+ years of experience in continuous improvement, industrial engineering, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies
- Experience with root cause analysis and data-driven problem-solving techniques
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, and KPI reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, or data visualization tools preferred
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk in an office and production environment and lift up to 25 pounds
