Who you are
The ideal candidate will have significant PQE experience as a qualified lawyer (or appropriate equivalent experience) in a leading telco, with extensive commercial experience and a deep understanding of the telecoms sector. They should possess strong stakeholder management skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage legal risk in strategic projects. They will also be a strong team player, with proven ability to support leadership and develop more junior team members. Key performance indicators include timely delivery of legal advice, positive stakeholder feedback, effective risk management, and strong team engagement.
In summary, we are looking for someone who has:
- Legal Expertise: Significant PQE experience as a qualified lawyer in a leading telco (or equivalent experience), with extensive commercial experience.
- Industry knowledge: Deep understanding and experience within the technology and telecoms sectors, and good knowledge of legal trends within the telecoms industry.
- Risk Management: Proven ability to manage legal risk, balancing risk and mitigations proportionately to enable the business to meet its financial and growth objectives whilst also delivering the right outcomes for the consumer. Ability to drive process and technology changes to deliver efficiencies in legal delivery.
- Commercial Acumen: Applies sound commercial judgement to balance legal risk with business opportunity to enable strategic decision making aligned with business priorities. Able to bring the voice of the customer into the decision-making. Brings deep commercial experience to make connections and provide additional insight that enrich business decision making.
- Influential Stakeholder and External Engagement: Possesses strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills, enabling effective engagement and influence across internal leadership and external parties including strategic suppliers, industry forums and regulators. Builds trusted relationships that drive alignment and achieve strategic outcomes.
- Analytical Insight and Strategic Communication: Applies advanced legal analysis to complex problems and data to extract critical insights and shape pragmatic solutions. Communicates outcomes with clarity and precision, tailoring messages appropriately to diverse audiences to support confident decision-making across the business.
- Delivery: Experience in facilitating the delivery of high-quality legal services across the business as a trusted enabler and partner.
