GENERAL SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance to Library staff in performing essential library operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs library functions which includes, checking items in and out, placing items on reserve, shelving books, serials and audiovisuals and arranging Copyright permissions.
Assists in maintaining computer databases of library holdings and borrowers and generates overdue notices and recalls. Generates circulation reports, overdue notices and recalls.
Trains new users on the online library catalog.
Assists users with literature searches.
Catalogs newly acquired books, serials and audiovisual materials.
Maintains computer database detailing the library’s serial holdings.
Processes incoming and outgoing interlibrary loans requests.
Maintains ILL statistics and Copyright reports.
Assists with interlibrary loan activities.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Associate degree or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience working in a library environment including experience with automated circulation systems, cataloging or interlibrary loan preferred.
