Petro Service Limited is an industry-leading solutions provider to the fueling landscape with operations throughout Canada. Petro Service has an opportunity for a Human Resources Manager, who will manage specific HR initiatives and operational requirements. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, including partnering with operations to plan and deliver practical, people-focused HR solutions that support the business and people strategy. This role will provide support, advice and development to across multiple businesses. The role will provide valued direction, service, support and advice to senior managers and employees, and be proactive in promoting human resources best practices, policies and procedures.

As a Human Resources Manager, you will:
 

Strategic People Initiatives: Be part of the HR team who will be key in preparing the organization for the future – supporting the HR Director in the implementation of strategic people initiatives including succession planning, leadership development, and talent management.
 

Partner with Senior Managers: Guide managers through the employee lifecycle processes, including performance management, succession planning, organizational plans, retention, philosophy, and setting the stage for strategic growth. 
 

Supporting the Business with Analytics: Partner with the business to provide key insights and actions supported by people measures and analytics. Critically analyzing the impact of HR practices for the business and how to measure success.
 

Workforce Planning: Partner with leaders to support workforce planning that align people capabilities with current and future business needs. Contribute to the assessment of team structures, roles, and talent requirements, and provide practical HR guidance to support organizational effectiveness, succession readiness, and sustainable growth.
 

Employee Connection and Engagement: Support initiatives that strengthen employee connection and engagement across the organization. Partner with leaders to foster a positive employee experience through meaningful communication, engagement activities, and people practices that reinforce culture and build trust.
 

HR Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop HR team, fostering strong customer service in recruitment, retention and employee relations.

Required Competencies:

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) Designation completed or in progress.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment.
  • Previous experience with an HRIS system would be considered an asset.
  • A passion for HR with a clear understanding to its role within a company’s strategy.
  • Expert knowledge of MS office and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Sound research and business analytic skills.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and work independently or within a team.
  • Understands and appreciate the need for confidentiality.
