Position: RELEASE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
Navaide is seeking a Release Management Specialist to coordinate and manage the planning, scheduling, and execution of SAP system releases on a Department of Defense contract. The candidate will serve as the central coordinator between development, Basis, QA, and functional teams to ensure releases are delivered on schedule with minimal disruption to production operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
• Develop and maintain release schedules, release plans, and deployment runbooks for all SAP system changes
• Coordinate release activities across development, Basis, QA, and functional workstreams to ensure readiness
• Manage the transport request process including transport sequencing, import scheduling, and post-import validation
• Chair release readiness reviews and go/no-go meetings prior to production deployments
• Maintain the release calendar and communicate release windows and maintenance schedules to stakeholders
• Track and report on release metrics including deployment success rates, rollback events, and defect leakage
• Support change control board activities and maintain release-related change documentation
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of SAP release management or transport management experience
• Hands-on experience with SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and CTS/CTS+
• Understanding of SAP system landscape design and environment promotion processes
• Experience coordinating releases across multiple workstreams in a large SAP program
• Eligibility for and willingness to obtain security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Navy ERP or DoD ERP release management experience
• SAP Solution Manager Change and Release Management (CHARM) experience
• ITIL Release and Deployment Management certification or training
• Experience with DevOps or CI/CD concepts in an SAP context
Certifications
• ITIL Foundation preferred
• SAP Certified Technology Associate a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or comparable work experience
