Overview for the Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech)
Hospitality Health ER is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech) to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff at our Galveston location.
This role is much more than housekeeping. Our EVS team plays a critical role in infection prevention, patient experience, and overall facility operations. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to details, and understands that cleanliness directly impacts patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities for the Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech)
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout patient rooms, treatment areas, restrooms, hallways, waiting areas, and staff spaces
- Perform terminal cleaning procedures and prepare rooms for incoming patients
- Follow infection control and isolation protocols consistently and accurately
- Clean and disinfect floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, equipment, and high-touch surfaces
- Safely handle and dispose of contaminated waste and biohazard materials
- Operate EVS equipment including vacuums, buffers, floor scrubbers, and related cleaning equipment
- Restock linens, supplies, and housekeeping carts throughout the facility
- Assist with linen distribution and inventory management
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues promptly
- Support overall facility readiness during high-volume periods and emergency situations
- Maintain organized work areas and properly care for cleaning equipment and supplies
- Assist with additional operational or cleaning responsibilities as assigned

- Previous housekeeping, EVS, janitorial, hotel, or healthcare cleaning experience preferred, but not required
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
