Role Overview The role of our Senior Social Value Manager at NHS SBS is a pivotal role in supporting the procurement function NHS SBS become an organisation that embeds and delivers genuine social value for our teams, communities, and customers. This role is focused on leading our approach to social value across procurement by delivering meaningful outcomes, including implementing, managing, and reporting on social value delivery in our framework agreements, our transactional procurement services and across our wider business. Specifically, this role provides technical support to procurement teams on social value and how we embed social value through the procurement lifecycle right from pre-market engagement to contract management and impact reporting. As well as embedding social value, this role leads the training and development aspect of social value to procurement colleagues at NHS SBS to ensure that teams have the capability to deliver on key social value priorities. Additionally, this role oversees volunteering and charity delivery in our organisation, managing the community and engagement officer to drive uptake in volunteering numbers and charitable funds raised. This includes creating opportunities to donate and volunteer and monitoring the impact of these. Key Responsibilities Acting Sustainably · Embed yourself as the key subject matter expert on Social Value across the procurement and the Wider NHS SBS Teams. · Embed Social Value into the procurement function at NHS SBS, including technical implementation throughout the procurement lifecycle. · Represent the organization as a thought leader in social value and corporate social responsibility forums and events. Social Value and Sustainability · Support on embedding social value into bid delivery across the organisation, innovating to create new ideas and opportunities. · Support on client delivery of social value, innovating to create new solutions across our organisation that can drive revenue in our business. · Lead on social value innovation at NHS SBS including systems, tools and new technologies that can support social value. Teamwork · Foster a culture of social responsibility and ethical business practices through employee engagement and awareness-raising activities. · Identify opportunities for staff development and capacity building to enhance skills and knowledge related to social value management. · Collaborate with peers and experts in the field to advance knowledge and innovation in social impact measurement and management. Effective communication · Communicate and engage employees on social value, more specifically volunteering and charity fundraising, encouraging an increase in uptake. Stakeholder Engagement and Management · Work alongside NHSE and DHSC to engage on Social Value activities across the health sector, including policy changes or guidance documents that impact our organisation or our clients. Flagging policy changes to the organisation for implementation · Engage with internal stakeholders to raise awareness and support for social value initiatives across departments and teams. Public Procurement Regulations · Embed and adopt key government policy within social value, sustainability, and modern slavery into procurements to ensure compliant delivery of framework agreements and transactional procurement, working closely with policy, compliance, and legal departments. · Stay abreast of relevant legislation, laws, trends, and updates in Social Value to ensure you are the key subject matter expert in the organisation.
