About the School - OU.LOCATION: The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is a great school in a wonderful location. We are an HMC school and were judged by a recent BSO (British Schools Overseas) inspection to be outstanding in every area, including quality of education, safeguarding, pupil welfare and academic outcomes. BSB is a large, very popular school for children aged 3 to 18. Our curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum, and we offer a wide range of GCSEs, A levels, BTEC and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, all alongside a significant enrichment programme. Over 2000 pupils from more than 74 nationalities attend the school and over 315 staff work at BSB. We are based in three locations, two just outside the city of Barcelona – in Castelldefels, where we have a Primary, Secondary and Pre-University campus, and in the cosmopolitan town of Sitges, where we have another Primary campus. BSB City is in the heart of Barcelona itself with a Foundation campus (built September 2021), and a brand-new main campus, which opened in September 2023. In September 2026 we will be opening another campus, initially for EYFS and Primary-aged students, north of Barcelona, in the Maresme area. The growth of the school has been accompanied by significant investment over recent years, including the building of a state-of–the art Pre-University Centre (Nexus), a full-sized 4G rugby and football pitch, dedicated STEAM facilities and the new BSB City and Maresme campuses. About the Role: Beginning September 2026, we are recruiting an outstanding Early Years and Primary Music Specialist to join our team at BSB Castelldefels . We are looking for someone who will bring the music curriculum to life in our EYFS and Primary school, from Nursery to Year 6 (3-11yrs). As part of our curriculum design, we prepare a variety of 'celebrations of learning', to parents and wider audiences. We are looking for someone who can lead performances and productions in collaboration with teachers. The Role • Deliver a specific aspect of the EYFS Primary curriculum, modelling outstanding practice, in an innovative and inspirational way. • Have high expectations of all students and to track progress, using formative assessment tools, based on relevant data, observations through a wide range of opportunities. • Lead on the direction of performances and productions in collaboration with class teachers. • Assist in the process of curriculum development and delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high quality curriculum program at all key stages. • Provide feedback and communicate effectively with parents, ensuring that both the student and parents are aware of student strengths and targets, across the year. • Work collaboratively with teachers to offer cover capacity across the school. • Actively engage with the school's performance management programme. • Work with colleagues and members of the SLT to ensure that the school improvement plan priorities are effectively implemented.
