Job Description
We are seeking an Sr. Advanced Physicist in our Broomfield, CO location.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build, validate, and deploy ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems supporting both R&D and commercial quantum computing platforms
- Perform hands-on cleanroom assembly, integration, and validation of complex vacuum and cryogenic systems
- Own day-to-day operation and efficiency of the cleanroom production line, ensuring quality, safety, and throughput targets are met
- Identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues using root cause corrective action (RCCA), data analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Work closely with design teams to drive manufacturability, scalability, reliability into system design for both current and future generation systems
- Develop, maintain, and improve work instructions, production documentation, inspection plans, and operator training materials
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes, production floor layouts and work cells to improve reliability, efficiency and scalability
- Typical time allocation: ~60% hands-on production and cleanroom work, ~20% continuous improvement and quality initiatives, ~20% design & development initiatives
- Travel required up to 10%
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum
- Minimum 7 years of experience

WE VALUE:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong domain knowledge of ultra-high vacuum (UHV), extreme-high vacuum (XHV), and cryogenic systems
- Experience with assembly and leak checking of ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems
- Experience building and integrating highly complex equipment in a cleanroom environment
- Experience working in low-volume manufacturing environments
- Experience applying root cause analysis tools such as RCCA, fishbone diagrams, or similar structured problem-solving methods
- Experience developing work instructions, technical documentation, and operator training materials
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Onshape
- Mechanical tooling or component design and design for manufacturability
Compensation & Benefits:
The pay range for this role is $132,000 – $165,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
