Manufacturing Engineer Ducommun is an industry leader in fabrication of large, complex aircraft skins and leading edges. Manufacturing Engineer is needed to support all aspects of manufacturing complete skins including stretch forming, brake forming, hot forming, heat treatment, chemical milling, machining, chemical processing. Our facility in Gardena, CA is a leading global supplier of large stretch formed aircraft skins, hot forming of titanium, superplastic forming and complex fastened and welded assemblies. Job Summary Assist in up-front cost estimating, manufacturing plans and conceptual tool designs Communicate with shop personnel to assist with proper tool usage and manufacturing procedures Provide a strong technical interface with customers and vendors Define and implement solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency Develop reports, presentations, RCCA’s and rework instructions Working knowledge of CAD, Tool Design and MBD Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area. Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project committees.
