About the Team
Nutanix Database Service (NDB) is a DBaaS (Database as a Service) product for on-premise Nutanix customers. The product is expanding to a Hybrid Multi Cloud Solution with a scalable architecture. The NDB engineering team is distributed across Serbia, USA, and India. If the idea of starting small and building big excites you, you will be a good fit for this team. With NDB, you'll find no shortage of challenging problems to work on. We work closely across our team in a collaborative environment that encourages the open exploration of ideas.

Your Role
- Take part in architecting, designing, and building core components of the Nutanix Database Service;
- Experience multi-Cloud development with Nutanix Cloud, AWS, Azure, etc;
- Build a system that can operate thousands of hosted instances for multiple DB kernels: PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and others;
- Use the power of the Open Source to build a system that scales and spans across different clouds and geographies;
What You Will Bring
- 4+ years of developing highly scalable and available software.
- Passion for programming and rock-solid foundation in at least one of the following languages: Java, C, C++, Python, Golang;
- Ability to solve problems related to distributed systems, concurrency, and performance engineering;
- Passion for system design;
Great to have
- Experience in building a scalable cloud service on one of the leading public clouds: AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
- Experience in either PostgreSQL, MS Sql Server, Oracle, or other Database Engine development;
- Experience in system design and cloud architecture;
- Experience in Open Source project code development;
- A startup experience;
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
