Project Manager
- Full-time
Company Description
At KMS Technology Mexico, we are passionate about building innovative software solutions that drive impact. As part of an international tech company, we offer a collaborative and inclusive environment where your ideas matter and your growth is our priority.
Job Description
As a Project Manager supporting our Mexico Delivery Center and clients, you are the operational backbone of our engagement portfolio, ensuring projects across all accounts are delivered on time, within scope, and with the quality our clients expect. You act as the connective tissue between client expectations, delivery teams, and KMS leadership, driving execution discipline while keeping a program-level view of how individual projects ladder up to broader account health. Your mission is to lead project execution end-to-end while supporting cross-account initiatives that strengthen the delivery center's overall performance.
Project Execution & Governance
Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of software development projects across multiple concurrent engagements, owning planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout phases.
Scope & Change Management: Define and maintain project scope, manage change requests, and ensure all changes are documented, communicated, and approved by the relevant stakeholders.
Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and escalate appropriately to keep projects on track.
Schedule & Budget Control: Build and maintain realistic project schedules, track effort and burn against budget, and provide accurate forecasting to delivery leadership.
Reporting & Visibility: Produce clear, consistent status reports for clients and internal leadership, ensuring decisions are made on real data rather than assumptions.
Cross-Account & Program-Level Support
Portfolio View: Support the delivery center across multiple accounts simultaneously, identifying patterns, risks, and opportunities that span individual projects.
Resource Coordination: Partner with delivery and resource managers to align staffing needs across accounts, supporting fluid allocation as priorities shift.
Process Standardization: Drive consistent project management practices across the delivery center, including tooling, ceremonies, reporting cadences, and quality gates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication between engineering teams, account managers, QA, and client stakeholders to remove blockers and accelerate delivery.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Client Relationship: Serve as the primary delivery point of contact for assigned accounts, building trust through consistent execution and proactive communication.
Stakeholder Alignment: Manage expectations across client and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and trade-offs.
Escalation Management: Lead the response to delivery escalations, coordinating across teams to resolve issues quickly and protect the client relationship.
Workshop & Meeting Facilitation: Lead project kickoffs, planning sessions, steering committees, and retrospectives with confidence and structure.
Delivery Management Growth Track
Team Performance: Partner with engineering leads to monitor team health, velocity, and quality metrics, contributing to performance improvement plans where needed.
Account Health: Develop a holistic view of account health across financials, delivery quality, team morale, and client satisfaction.
Mentorship: Support and coach junior project coordinators and emerging leads, fostering growth within the delivery center.
Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in internal initiatives focused on delivery excellence, process maturity, and organizational best practices.
Qualifications
Professional Competencies
Project Management Expertise: Strong command of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid) and the judgment to apply the right approach to the right context.
Program Thinking: Ability to operate above the individual project level — seeing dependencies, patterns, and opportunities across a portfolio.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to present clearly to executive stakeholders and technical teams alike.
Problem Solving: Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, make decisions with incomplete information, and drive resolution in high-pressure situations.
Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across clients, engineering teams, and leadership.
Adaptability: Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while remaining adaptable to shifting priorities and evolving business needs.
Education & Experience
Education: Minimum 4-year university/college degree (technical or business discipline preferred).
Project Management Experience: 5-8 years of progressive experience managing software development projects, ideally in a services or consulting environment.
Services Delivery: Direct experience in professional services delivery or software consulting is required, with exposure to multiple concurrent client engagements.
Multi-Account Exposure: Demonstrated success working across multiple accounts or programs simultaneously, with the ability to context-switch effectively.
Tools Proficiency: Hands-on experience with project management and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
Travel: Willingness to travel to office locations and customer engagements as required.
