We’re seeking a client-focused Associate Design Consultant to play a critical role in shaping the client journey, supporting our design team, and driving business results through service, sales support, and relationship building. WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT High-impact, client-facing role in a luxury retail environment Strong earning potential (base + monthly bonus; no individual sales quota) Hands-on experience supporting top Interior Design Consultants Blend of creativity + business + customer experience Clear pathway for career growth within design and sales WHAT YOU’LL DO Client Experience & Relationship Building Serve as a polished, professional first point of contact for clients entering the Design Center Build rapport, understand client needs, and introduce them to Ethan Allen’s complimentary design services Create seamless transitions to Interior Design Consultants through warm introductions and appointment setting Maintain ongoing client communication regarding appointments, order updates, and follow-up Sales & Design Team Support Partner closely with Interior Design Consultants to support active client projects and sales efforts, mastering the technical tools to elevate personal service Assist with presentations, product selections, quotes, and order entry Help prepare for client meetings, including samples, materials, and presentation setup Step in to assist clients when a Design Consultant is unavailable, ensuring continuity of service Business Operations & Order Management Enter and manage quotes and purchase orders using POS systems Monitor open orders, backorders, and project timelines to ensure exceptional follow-through Coordinate service and communication between the Design Center and internal teams Support resolution of client inquiries and service needs Showroom Experience & Visual Standards Maintain a luxury-level showroom presentation across design studios and client spaces Assist with inventory receiving, tagging, merchandising, and replenishment Ensure the environment reflects Ethan Allen’s standards of style, comfort, and professionalism Team Collaboration & Influence Act as a trusted partner to a team of experienced designers, helping keep projects and workflows on track Share best practices and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing development WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT You enjoy building relationships and delivering memorable client experiences You are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects You bring confidence, professionalism, and a polished presence to client interactions You thrive in a team-based, fast-paced environment You’re motivated by business results and contributing to team success QUALIFICATIONS 3–5+ years of experience in luxury retail, sales support, hospitality, or client service Demonstrated ability to support sales-driven environments and customer relationships Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Passion for interior design, home furnishings, or a related creative field Professional presentation and a solutions-oriented mindset Ability to work a full retail schedule, including weekends and holidays Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base pay: $20–25/hour (paid bi-weekly) Bonus Opportunity tied to team performance (paid monthly) Typical annualized earnings range (base pay + monthly bonus): $65,000 – $95,000 Comprehensive Benefits Package Includes: 401(k) with employer contributions Multiple medical plans with prescription coverage Health Savings Account with employer contributions Dental and vision plans Life and disability insurance Paid Time Off Employee Purchase Program Commuter benefits Employee Assistance Program Optional voluntary insurance offerings MEET THE TEAMwww.ethanallen.com/gardencity
