In this position you will be reporting directly to Quality Lead - Machining and will be responsible for manufacturing quality readiness of the Welland facility. You will support quality processes related to the manufacturing of machined components and collaborate cross-functionally within the Waukesha business unit. You will utilize and expand your understanding of quality theories, analytical practices, continuous improvement concepts, and coordination principles in all parts of the manufacturing function pertaining to Product Quality. You will provide technical guidance, conduct investigative analysis, and leverage interdisciplinary inputs to deliver a high-quality product to our customers while ensuring adherence to internal quality procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Execute Quality Assurance activities to ensure products comply with all regulatory, QMS, customer, and engineering requirements.
  • Manage MRB-related activities for assigned product lines and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate and/or execute containment, sorting, rework/repair, and concession activities for internal and external issues.
  • Support the Zero Defect plan and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Navigate internal electronic systems, databases, and programs to compile, report, and analyze factual data needed for decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Utilize precision measurement equipment and apply metrology principles to measure, gauge, and inspect a wide range of products, components, and assemblies for conformity.
  • Provide support to machining cells in the use of gauges and the integration of measurement results into quality data systems
  • Collect and compile standardized data required to generate and communicate nonconformance reports to cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Engineering, Supplier Quality, etc.).
  • Monitor and analyze trends in nonconformance data and recurring issues.
  • Assist with calibration of test equipment in accordance with department operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
 
  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree or diploma in a technical discipline; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in CNC machining will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma techniques, Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, and quality problem-solving principles (8D, DMAIC, etc.).
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience with QDAS and Welland operations quality processes is an asset.
