Description
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Patient Handling & Restraint – Safely managing a variety of animals, from small pets (dogs & cats) to farm animals and livestock (equine, cattle, and more).
- Clinic Maintenance – Assisting with cleaning, laundry, and general clinic upkeep to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Medication Administration & Prescriptions – Administering medications and preparing prescriptions as directed.
- Supporting the Veterinary Team – Assisting our Veterinarians and Technicians with procedures, treatments, and patient care.
- Taking on Projects – Tackling tasks as assigned—with a smile, of course!
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 3 years of mixed animal experience preferred (veterinary setting not required).
- Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It’s okay if you talk to animals, too!)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
