Middle School Girls Athletic Coordinator
The position of a Middle School Girls Athletic Coordinator will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Carry out aims and objectives of the overall athletic program of the school
Communicate information from the high school athletic department to middle school coaches and staff (memo form)
- Work with principal on all assemblies of athletes
- Maintain file of physical examination cards
- Coordinate grade checks and prepare eligibility sheet and provide list to administration
- Maintain inventory of athletic equipment and provide for storage
- Insure that the gym/field are in playing condition for each activity
- Supervise the middle school athletic fund
- Provide Athletic Director a list of students who complete a sport's season
- Provide athletic schedules to principal
- Conduct meetings with coaches and advise administrators of concerns Submit written agenda to principal and Athletic Director.
- Maintain student medical information sheets; provide traveling teams with first aide kit
- Coordinate parent meetings; publish practice schedule for parents
- Supervise coaches and others involved in middle school athletic program
- Allow as many students as possible the experience of competing in athletics as part of their educational program
- Prepare as many students as possible for competition in the high school program
- Coordinate implementation of techniques designed by the high school Head Coach
- Be responsible for transportation, budgeting, training, and academics as well as general management of athletic teams
- Institute an academic and disciplinary counseling program which will include study hall and parental involvement
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
Appropriate Texas Teacher Certificate, PE (EC-12)
Experience as coach and knowledge of operation of athletic program
- [Physical Education Teachers: Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate]
5 years of coaching experience
Equipment Used: Athletic equipment, standard office equipment including computer and peripherals, and other instructional equipment; automated external defibrillator (AED)
Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards.
Period of Employment: 2026-2027 School Year
Salary: Based on 2026-2027 Classroom Teacher Salary Scale, plus coaching stipend & coordinator stipend
