Early Childhood Special Education Clerk
The position of an Early Childhood Special Education Clerk will be available immediately at East Central ISD. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Organize and manage the routine work activities of the early childhood special education evaluation team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordination communication with Early Childhood Intervention organizations, the early childhood team and the respective elementary campuses
- Maintain ECSE team calendar for meetings, testing appointments and Admission, Review & Dismissal Committee meetings
- Obtain and manage child/student records while maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Provide clerical and organizational support for the early childhood team and associated evaluation personnel
- Prepare correspondence, reports, recommendations, charts, etc.
- Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data relative to the early childhood team and compliance reporting systems
- Access and utilize the special education documentation system, Frontline
- Maintain filing systems and process incoming correspondence.
- Place and receive telephone calls and record messages.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks; input data
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school graduate or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must pass Basic Skills Test; (or have passing score on file)
Above average skills in typing/word processing, editing and composing letters/reports
Proficient in technology applications
Must perform assigned duties with a minimum of supervision
EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Conditions/Physical Demands/Environmental: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Prolonged sitting; bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; reaching. Lifting and carrying for inventory tasks (less than 35 pounds). May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional district wide travel. Normal office environment.
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 187 days basis
SALARY: Paraprofessional Pay Grade 301
