This role leads the business analysis function that connects technology solutions with real operational needs at APS’s Palo Verde site. By guiding how systems are supported, improved, and implemented, the Supervisor ensures teams have the right tools to work safely, efficiently, and reliably. The impact is felt across projects that keep critical systems running—supporting APS’s mission to deliver dependable power and serve the communities of Arizona.

 

What Your Day Would Be Like:

  • Lead and support a team of business analysts as they translate business needs into practical IT solutions
  • Partner with IT, operations, and business stakeholders to shape system improvements that actually work in the field
  • Oversee activities like process mapping, requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and change readiness
  • Balance team workload across active projects, support needs, and system enhancements
  • Stay connected to current system performance, emerging issues, and opportunities to improve how work gets done
  • Supports Palo Verde Information Services software license renewals and O&M budgeting activities

 

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience leading or coordinating business analysis work in an IT or systems environment
  • Strong understanding of application support, system implementations, and system enhancements
  • Ability to guide teams through requirements gathering, testing, and change management efforts
  • Collaborative leadership style with clear communication and organizational skills
  • Someone who can manage multiple priorities while keeping teams aligned and supported

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems, Business or other job-related field from an accredited college or university
  • plus six (6) years related experience as a business analyst or similar role is required.
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a combination of education and experience equaling 10 years is required. Demonstrated leadership skills required. Experience supporting all phases of an IT project lifecycle from conception & initiation to project close required.

 

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated high quality oral, written and presentation communication skills; interpersonal and people management skills; and demonstrated experience in project management. Strong interpersonal savvy in dealing with all levels of management and front-line personnel.
  • Recognizes that different levels of personnel require different forms, frequency, and channels of communication. Overall understanding of the company's organizational and operating structure.
  • Familiarity with business units supported by IT and the services they deliver.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
  • Experience in various Agile roles such as Product Owner, SCRUM Master and SCRUM Team member is desired

    Nuclear requirement:
    Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
    Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
    This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
    These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.


Major Accountabilities

1) Leads the day-to-day activities of a business analyst team that supports the delivery of software changes/enhancements/deployments for various systems across the enterprise.
Provides the right guidance and coaching to ensure your team Is effective in requirements elicitation, business requirements documentation as well as software testing.
Ensures preferred technical architecture and business requirements are balanced to provide effective systems solutions, sound architecture, and cross-system integration objectives.
2) Independently leading and facilitating requirement gathering meetings, workshops and stakeholder interviews across multiple administrative programs.
3) Partnering with business stakeholders, technical teams and vendors in requirements elicitation, documentation and management, design, testing, readiness, and implementation activities.
4) Applying business process modeling techniques in identifying the needs of stakeholder groups to develop current and future process models.
5) Serving as the liaison between the customer and the delivery/development team.
6) Coordinating with the training team to provide end-user training for new projects and major enhancements to applications.
7) Leads the team in the resolution of technical issues by identifying, recommending, and implementing appropriate solutions.
8) Manages work group costs within approved budget.Continually works to improve department work processes.
9) Supports unit level strategic plans that align with corporate and Information Technology plans.
Supports client planning process and prioritization for systems technology implementation.
Assigns, directs, facilitates, reviews and approves unit work activities to ensure effectiveness and productivity of the work unit.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of business processes.
Leads work activities to meet client expectations.
10) Develops and retains a highly skilled technical team by implementing performance management program and ensuring staff has the technical and business skills to support the objectives of the organization.
Develops team and guides their efforts to continually improve the delivery of system solutions.
Provides feedback, coaching and training and development opportunities to create a high performing team.
