HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: The Shop Foreman will be responsible for supervising shop floor associates (SFA�s) across all workstations at the Upfit & Service Centers. This individual will be responsible for planning and assigning work, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in service, installation and upfit methods, equipment operating procedures, and working conditions. This position impacts efficient and timely truck builds and truck servicing requirements. The following are essential duties and responsibilities:
- Enforce safety rules and take action to remove safety hazards.
- Confer with Installation & Service Manager to coordinate work activities. Plan and establish work schedules.
- Determine daily truck build goals and the supporting headcount needs to meet targets.
- Manager and lead shop floor priorities to meet daily goals.
- Trouble-shoot equipment to maximize uptime.
- Ensure materials and processes result in the production of products that meet quality standards.
- Manage work schedules and resources to level loaded plans which meet customer demand.
- Support the training and coaching needed for employees in daily work activities, ensuring that workers conform to safety procedures while maintaining required output levels using the proper documented operating procedures.
- Ensure 5S activities are completed in all workstations as required.
- Manage all personnel processes including hiring, developing, disciplining, and terminating shop floor associates.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within shop and in coordination with other locations.
- Support continuous improvement mindset and improve installation and upfit processes and methods for safety, cost reduction, quality improvement & efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Maintain and report out on MDI SQDCM Tracking boards to identify and prioritize continuous improvement activities.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:
Education/Experience: 2-year Technical or Associate�s Degree preferred; supervisory experience and/or military experience desired.
Experience and/or Training Leadership Training a bonus. Computer skills competency required like Microsoft Office Tools, Databases, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Licenses/Certificates LEAN leadership related to Kaizen, 3P, JI/Standard Work, MDI, Problem Solving and Waste Elimination desired.
Technology/Equipment Mechanically inclined. Experience in a truck upfit or manufacturing environment with exposure to shop floor processes strongly preferred.
Additional Skills: Sustainment and execution of SQDC programs and continuous improvement activities.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee will spend a majority of the day on the shop floor and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, noise, temperature fluctuations and other shop floor duties. Must be comfortable in a fast pace and continuously changing environment.
