Transport Allocator

Mascot, NSW, AU, 2020Posted 2 weeks ago

Job Description

Ready to move beyond bookings and into decisions that actually move the needle on cost and performance?

The role

Sims is building something new - a centralised transport desk that sits at the heart of our ANZ operations and changes how we think about fleet, cost, and service delivery.

It's a step into a high-visibility team at the centre of a major operational change. The kind of role where strong performance gets noticed, and progression is real. As a Transport Allocator/Coordinator, you'll own real-time allocation across our internal and external fleets, working within a structure that's being built with intention.

What you'll be doing

  • Own daily scheduling and real-time allocation across ANZ fleets
  • Act as first point of contact for transport requests, changes, and service issues
  • Balance cost, service, and operational constraints in live allocation decisions
  • Monitor fleet and bin utilisation
  • Identify opportunities to reduce idle time and improve asset productivity
  • Maintain accuracy of transport systems to ensure real-time visibility of all movements
  • Ensure jobs, allocations, and completions are correctly recorded for billing and contractor payments
  • Execute allocations within Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR frameworks
  • Liaise with customers, drivers, contractors, and internal teams to keep things moving

About you

  • Experience in transport allocation or coordination (waste collection, bulk haulage, multi-drop logistics)
  • You make decisions and owns the outcome
  • You build relationships naturally and communicate clearly
  • Cost and results matter to you
  • Sound knowledge of CoR and NHVR frameworks.

Why join us

  • One of three newly created roles - Be part of building something from the ground up
  • Real career progression, within transport and well beyond it
  • Parental leave: 12 weeks for primary carers, 6 weeks for secondary carers
  • Health and wellbeing support: BUPA discounts and an Employee Assistance Program
  • Novated leasing and superannuation sessions
