JOB.TITLE, OU.LOCATION, CUSTOM.STATE Own a high-impact role where your GIS expertise directly shapes timber supply planning and long-term forestry strategy across BC’s Interior. You’ll partner cross-functionally to build advanced mapping tools, influence land-use and First Nations planning initiatives, and drive smarter, data-backed decisions at both operational and strategic levels. This is a great opportunity to lead innovative GIS solutions (including ArcGIS Enterprise and LiDAR projects) while working in a collaborative, forward-thinking woodlands team. What We Offer Interfor offers a competitive salary based on experience, skills, and qualifications, with an expected range of $85,000 – $105,000 (CAD) per year. In addition to base pay, you’ll enjoy: Short-Term Incentive Bonus 3 weeks vacation to start RRSP matching Employee Share Purchase Program matching Employer-paid medical and dental coverage What You’ll Do Strategic Planning: Lead and support government and internal forest planning initiatives (FLPs, land use plans, TFL/TSR) through GIS analysis and implementation. First Nations Support: Provide GIS analysis and insights to support First Nations planning, tenure evaluation, and partnership initiatives. Analysis Tools: Develop mapping products and GIS tools that enable data-driven operational and strategic decision-making. Data Management: Maintain GIS data integrity, standards, and inventories to ensure reliable, high-quality spatial data. Technology Integration: Lead system improvements including GIS integration projects, LiDAR data workflows, and adoption of new technologies What You Offer GIS Expertise: Advanced proficiency in ESRI tools (ArcPro/ArcMap), spatial analysis, and database management. Technical Skills: Experience with Python, SQL, and relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server) to support complex analysis. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of BC forestry operations and planning frameworks. Experience Education: 5+ years in the forest sector with a forestry and/or GIS-related diploma or degree.
