About the IT Manager role

soona is looking for an IT Manager who is equal parts systems thinker and hands-on problem solver. This is a hands-on IT operations role. You will be the primary owner for employee IT, endpoint management, SaaS access, studio infrastructure, and IT compliance support. This role does not currently manage direct reports, but it has broad ownership of the IT function and will partner closely with Engineering, PeopleOps, Finance, and Studio Operations.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Minneapolis studio, reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Responsibilities:

IT Support & Employee Experience

  • Serve as primary IT support and point of contact for a ~100-person distributed workforce

  • Own IT support operations end-to-end, including triage, troubleshooting, and resolution

  • Deliver responsive support with a strong focus on employee experience

Infrastructure & Core Systems

  • Manage and support network infrastructure and WAN lines for studios across 3 locations

  • Build and maintain core production systems

  • Manage ADT building security system, including access control and security cameras

  • Ensure reliability and performance of core IT systems and services

Employee Technology Lifecycle (SaaS and IAM)

  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, and role-change processes across SaaS services

  • Maintain accurate access and device state throughout the employee lifecycle

  • Enforce least-privilege access and maintain strong access controls

  • Partner closely with PeopleOps to ensure smooth, timely transitions

Endpoint Management (macOS / iOS)

  • Administer and support ~150+ endpoints using Mosyle MDM

  • Oversee device inventory, provisioning, and lifecycle management

  • Maintain OS and software updates, and security configuration compliance

Process, Documentation & Automation

  • Build and continuously improve IT processes with a focus on scalability and simplicity

  • Create and maintain clear, usable documentation for IT workflows and end users

  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual work

Security & Compliance

  • Partner cross-functionally to support SOC 2 readiness and ongoing compliance efforts

  • Contribute to security initiatives across endpoints, identity, and SaaS systems

  • Help balance strong security practices with a low-friction employee experience

Has experience in:

  • 4+ years of hands-on IT operations, systems administration, endpoint management, and/or SaaS experience

  • Hands-on expertise with SaaS management platforms (e.g. Mosyle, Google Workspace) and IT service management tools

  • Administering macOS / iOS fleets at scale (150+ endpoints) with an MDM such as Mosyle

  • Managing network infrastructure, WAN connectivity, and physical security systems (e.g. ADT access control and cameras) across multiple sites

  • Running employee lifecycle processes - onboarding, offboarding, and role changes - with clean, timely provisioning and deprovisioning

  • Building documentation and automation that makes IT processes scalable and repeatable

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills - you can explain a VPN issue to someone who has never heard the word ‘VPN’

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience

  • Bonus: experience in a studio, media production, or e-commerce environment

We can offer:

  • Strong starting salary: $105,000 - $125,000 (based on experience)
