Flexible working arrangements may be available. About the role: Cyber Security NSW is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join its Cyber Security Strategic Advisory Team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to strengthening cyber resilience across the NSW government, by supporting the delivery of key strategic initiatives. We're seeking candidates with an interest in cyber security and demonstrated experience in collecting and analysing complex data from diverse sources (in particular compliance and regulatory data). Your insights will help identify trends to enhance cyber security resilience across NSW Government in support of the Governance and Risk Improvement Program (GRIP), Cyber Security Policy (CSP) as well as other operational and project-based initiatives. Key responsibilities Data Analysis, Insights Reporting: Conduct clear, fit-for-purpose reports, dashboards and visualisations that support both technical and non-technical audiences in decision-making. Data Quality, Governance Assurance: Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity and compliance by providing expert advice on validation and assurance issues. Embed effective governance processes and continuous improvement practices to strengthen the reliability of cyber security reporting. Data Systems, Frameworks Optimisation: Develop and implement data templates, databases, collection systems and analytics solutions aligned to best-practice methodologies and industry standards. Optimise data management process to improve efficiency, usability and governance outcomes. Performance Measurement and Continuous Improvement: Develop, monitor and report performance indicators, metrics and compliance measures to inform planning and strategic decision-making. Support improvement initiatives and projects by identifying data-driven opportunities to enhance cyber security governance and assurance. Stakeholder Engagement Delivery: Build strong working relationships through effective communication and expectation management. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure analytical services deliver measurable outcomes and organisational value. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: Experience or familiarity with collating, cleaning and analysing data (preferably compliance/regulatory data in government) Experience working with data visualisation tools (preferably Tableau) will be highly regarded. Experience managing multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment with diverse stakeholders to support informed decision making through effective communication. Have knowledge and familiarity with information security and/or cyber security principles and concepts Tertiary qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Social Science, Actuary, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics or equivalent experience highly desired. Must be an Australian Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance, and willingness to undergo a criminal history and identity verification and ongoing probity checks as a condition of employment.
