Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
This technical position performs all types of Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Ultrasound. The technologist is able to
troubleshoot problems; as well as other duties as assigned. The technologist is able to process work into computer system
and interacts with Cardiologists.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma required; OJT – Ultrasound procedures and/or registry eligible; registered diagnostic sonographer
(RCVT and/or RDCS)
Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes
Cardiac anatomy; one (1) to two (2) years clinical echo/vascular experience or graduate of an approved ultrasound school.
Managerial skills, numerical ability, program presentation and training, communication skills, typing and dictation,
mechanically inclined, Public Relations aptitude, teach/explain/instruct; clerical accuracy, BCLS.
Licenses/Certificates:
BLS required must be completed prior to end of orientation period
