Building Healthy Communities: Step Up for School Wellness (BHC) is a school-based wellness program designed for Michigan schools (K-12) to create a culture of health with interventions focused on nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being. The BHC program is hiring a Research Assistant to coordinate the implementation of the program across the state, including managing the program website, coordinating logistics with intervention sites, providing technical support for schools using the data dashboard, collaborating with the program’s coaching partners, and preparing evaluation materials. Essential Functions : Participate in the recruitment and school selection process, including vetting applications for readiness, assessing partner coaching capacity, and monitoring available funding. Oversee the program application portal, including end-user technical assistance, generating reports for targeted outreach, and ongoing application support. Utilize the website for monitoring progress at research intervention sites, including tracking fidelity. Develop content and tools for the program website’s awarded school portal, including task lists, guides, and any annual program enhancements. Provide coaching for school sites on implementing specific program resources and monitor compliance. Maintain ongoing communication with program coaches on program status and provide resource task list reports to support successful school implementation. Assess school building support needed for completing program components, including support for the completion of the Healthy School Action Tool (HSAT). Assist with drafting reports for program partners and funders. Organize and attend training, events, and other program activities as necessary.
