The Opportunity

Our Western Port Manufacturing facility is looking to welcome a Senior HR Business Partner based in Hastings, VIC. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have four major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers. 

This is an opportunity to partner with our leaders across manufacturing operations onsite and have meaningful impact on workforce performance, capability, and engagement.

What Will You Do?

  • Strategic Business Partnering: turn enterprise-level People priorities into clear, practical actions. Provide commercially grounded advice across performance, capability, culture and risk, ensuring decisions align to enterprise strategy.
  • Workforce Strategy & Change: lead workforce planning and organisational design activity. Partner with leaders from business case development through to delivery of change programs aligned to enterprise frameworks.
  • Employee & Industrial Relations: manage ER/IR matters including disputes, conduct issues, investigations, union engagement and support EA negotiations. Build leader capability to confidently manage performance and conduct.
  • Leadership & Culture: coach and support leaders to uplift people leadership capability, continuing to foster an inclusive, safe and engaging workplace that supports retention and performance.
  • Governance & Risk: ensure consistent application of employment legislation and policies. Provide oversight of people decisions and uplift leader capability in managing people risk and compliance.
  • People Insights: own and interpret people metrics into actionable insights for your portfolio.

More About You

You are an experienced HR Business Partner who has successfully operated in complex operational environments where you have been able to influence key stakeholders.

You can demonstrate: 

  • a degree qualification in HR, Business, Industrial Relations or related discipline 

  • significant experience in HR Business Partnering within a complex workplace

  • strong knowledge and application of employment legislation and industrial relations practices (including exposure EA negotiations) 

  • exposure to workforce planning, change and organisational development 

  • effective influencing, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
