Versa is seeking a Software Engineer with the following responsibilities and qualifications.

Job Duties

The Software Engineer will be responsible for the following duties under supervision of a senior engineer:

• Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code.
  • Convert design wireframes into functional code using modern declarative UI frameworks or declarative layout for Android systems.
  • Implement UI logic using lifecycle-aware components and observe data changes via reactive data streams.
  • Apply object-oriented programming principles and design patterns (MVVM, Dependency Injection in Java and Kotlin to build modular and maintainable components.
  • Utilize Android SDK and framework components (Activity lifecycle, ViewModel, LiveData/Flow, Jetpack Compose) to implement responsive and adaptive UI across devices.
  • Develop custom UI components and optimized layouts (ConstraintLayout, RecyclerView) ensuring efficient rendering and smooth user experience.
  • Implement asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and threading to manage background operations and UI updates efficiently.
• Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable Android Application with Java/Kotlin code.
  • Support development of scalable Android applications using clean architecture principles and modular design.
  • Assist with integrating RESTful APIs handling authentication, data serialization, and error management for reliable backend communication.
  • Implement network-aware features using HTTP/HTTPS protocols to support secure and efficient data exchange.
  • Ensure code reusability and maintainability through abstraction layers, reusable modules, and version control using Git.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
  • Perform performance optimization using debugging tools to analyze memory, CPU usage, and threading behavior.
  • Assist with improving battery usage and resource management by improving background processing and network efficiency.
  • Implement testing strategies including unit testing (JUnit, Mockito) and UI testing (Espresso) to ensure reliability.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting crashes and performance issues using tools to debug crashes and logging frameworks.
• Work with Engineering and Customer Support to assist with the troubleshooting of defects reported by customers or found during in-house release testing.
  • Assist with analyzing and debugging production issues using logging systems to identify root causes.
  • Reproduce and investigate customer-reported defects across devices and environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support resolution of integration and system-level issues.
  • Assist with debugging and fixing system test and regression issues, ensuring application stability and release readiness.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in computer science, or a closely related field, and 2 years of related work experience.

The required skills include knowledge of Java, Kotlin, MySQL, C++, Gradle and JUnit.
