2026 Summer Alternative Education Teacher
This application is for CURRENT DISTRICT EMPLOYEES. Employees that will resign/retire/separate from the district before the completion of summer school will not be considered.
Summer school employees will receive one day of sick leave credit for summer school service; if summer school sick leave is not used, it may be carried over by the Member to the regular school year. (Article 19.6 in the TRUE contract)
Summer school employment is at will and may be terminated by the district. (Article 19.4 in TRUE contract)
Summer school hourly rate is $60 (Article 19.7 in TRUE contract).
Summer school teachers will be paid to arrive 15 minutes before student arrival and to stay for 15 minutes after student dismissal, based on the hourly rate in section 19.7 (Article 19.8 in TRUE contract).
All programs are conducted IN PERSON.
Employees must be able to work the full assignment.
Qualified applicants will hold a valid CA Single Subject credential with an English Language Learner Authorization in the subject area they are requesting to teach.
Up to 8 additional hours for planning meetings and prep time (dates/times TBD).
Work Year: Summer School (June 9 - July 3)
NOTE: June 19th and July 3rd are Non-Workdays for Certificated Positions
Days of Week: Monday - Friday
Hours: 8:00 am - 12:45 pm (4.75 hours/day (4.45 instructional rate, 0.5 duty-free non-paid lunch))
Salary: $60.00/hour
