The Gender, Sexualities, and Social Justice Program in the Department of Political Studies, College of Arts and Science invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach the following ISAP course during the Winter 2027 session: Course Number, Section, and Name: GENS 112.3 (92) Introduction to Womens and Gender Studies Term and Course Dates: Term 2 (January 6 to April 8, 2026) CRN: 32985, Tutorial - 32986 Delivery Mode: This course will be offered as a Lecture Course Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:30am to 11:20am, Tutorial – Thursday 1:00pm to 1:50pm Expected Enrollment Limit: 40 Qualifications: Minimum of an M.A. degree; but Ph.D. degree is preferred. Previous teaching experience in a university setting is considered an asset. This course section is offered through Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways (ISAP) which bundles advisory, co-curricular and curricular programming to support the retention and success of First Nations, Inuit and Metis students in the College of Arts Science. Additional qualifications required for this ISAP section include the following: Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous community priorities and perspectives, and attention to socio-economic, inter-generational, and educational barriers that unequally affect Indigenous post-secondary cohorts in Saskatchewan Familiarity with Indigenous perspectives and research methodologies as they connect to relevant academic disciplines, and to the development of skills for student success in those disciplines Experience teaching using methods that promote collaborative and peer-to-peer learning in small course cohorts Experience teaching mature student cohorts and students with nonstandard K-12 preparation in relevant academic disciplines Demonstrated intercultural competence and commitment to pedagogic praxis (reflection and reflexive adaptation of teaching) A valid driver’s license is required for off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days in recognition of preparation and marking time required. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment.
