Reports To: Director of Data Services (ASD 26-27 school year), then Lake Mountain Director of Technology & Infrastructure.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Data Services, the SIS Implementation team ensures the successful configuration, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the Student Information System. A primary and immediate focus involves the current district's migration to Skyward Qmlativ.
This role serves as a functional bridge between technical systems and school-level operations. This role collaborates with district and school personnel to ensure data integrity, build user capacity, and support consistent practices across all sites. This includes creating documentation, end-user training, and providing expert troubleshooting to ensure a smooth transition and effective long-term system adoption and use.
Essential Functions (26-27 school year w/ ASD) :
- Assist in the migration of data and processes from legacy system (SMS 2.0) to new platforms (Qmlativ).
- Support the configuration and setup of new SIS modules.
- Ensure data accuracy and alignment with district, state, and federal reporting requirements.
- Support the standardization of data entry practices and system workflows across all schools.
- Assist with testing and validation efforts for new system functionality.
- Design and deliver technical training for diverse audiences, including office professionals, district and school-based administrators, and teachers.
- Create and maintain accessible user guides, video tutorials, and training resources.
- Support school sites in mastering daily operations within the new SIS.
- Differentiate training strategies based on user roles, technical proficiency, and experience levels.
- Provide timely, high-tier support to school and district staff via help desk requests or site visits.
- Diagnose complex procedural or technical issues and escalate to vendors or IT as appropriate.
- Maintain a solution-oriented, customer-service approach in all interactions.
- Collaborate with Data Services and Technology teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Assist in refining best practices and workflows to improve district-wide efficiency.
- Manage multiple priorities and timelines to support a successful system-wide implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience: Experience in K-12 environments required. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Data Management, or Analytics preferred.
- Proficiency in Skyward (SMS 2.0 and/or Qmlativ) is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of school-site operations, including attendance, master scheduling, grading, and state reporting.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization (from frontline staff to district leadership).
- Ability to learn new software systems and versions quickly and adapt to evolving state requirements or district processes.
- Strong focus on data integrity and the ability to troubleshoot procedural bottlenecks.
- Ability and willingness to work in both Elementary and Secondary school settings.
- Demonstrated competence in training adult learners and simplifying complex technical processes for non-technical users.
- Valid Utah Driver's License.
POSITION NOTE: For the 2026-27 school year, this position will work directly with Alpine District's Data Services while focusing on their migration to Skyward Qmlativ. Beginning July 1, 2027, the position will move into the IT Department for Lake MTN School District, where the continued support and adoption of all new systems will become the emphasis.
