Assistant Director of Student Support Services - Elementary Schools
Location: District Office | Status: Exempt | Schedule:12-month position
Position Summary:
With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools' mission, vision and core values, the Assistant Director for Student Support Services assists the Assistant Superintendent of School Excellence and Student Support Services to provide leadership in the planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of district programs serving students with disabilities. This role includes monitoring special education services, guiding policy implementation, supporting program planning and evaluation, and ensuring adherence to state and federal requirements. The position collaborates with staff, families, and administrators to support diverse student needs, facilitates IEP processes, and promotes inclusive environments. It also manages personnel through hiring, evaluation, and professional development while aligning services with district priorities to improve student outcomes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minnesota teaching license in special education and administrative license as a Director of Special Education are required.
- A master's degree in special education, administration, or a closely related field is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of E-12 teaching experience and three (3) years of leadership experience are required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: The salary for this position ranges from $142,607 to $157,629, depending on experience and qualifications.
