6th and 7th Grade English Language Arts Teacher - St. Benedict

St. Benedict Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 6th and 7th Grade English Language Arts Teacher for the 2026�2027 school year. We are a faith-filled Catholic learning community committed to academic excellence and the development of the whole child�spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.

The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading and writing while creating a supportive, engaging, and faith-centered classroom environment that encourages students to grow as critical thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners.

Position Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction for students in grades 6 and 7
• Teach reading comprehension, literature analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills aligned to state standards
• Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and meaningful discussion through literature and writing activities
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Create a positive, structured, and faith-centered classroom environment that supports student success
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to monitor student growth and achievement
• Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and families to support student learning and development
• Support and uphold the mission and values of Catholic education
• Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Language Arts, or a related field
• Valid Ohio teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for middle school education and literacy development
• Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and faith-based education
