Job Description
Cook Manager--Granby
One full-time Cook Manager to work 7.5hrs per day, Monday through Friday on a 183 day calendar. Responsible for supervising the operation of a school cafeteria, supervises and/or performs the actual food preparation.
Job Duties:
- Prepares and supervises the preparation of the daily lunches for students
- Orders food supplies and performs a monthly inventory of food, supplies, and commodities on hand
- Receives and inventories delivery of food commodities and insures that the commodities are in proper condition
- Sorts and stores food commodities
- Instructs food service associates in methods of performing tasks and assigns and coordinates their work
- Insures that proper procedures and safety measures are followed in food preparation, serving, and clean-up
- Processes and maintains accurate reports on number of lunches served, foodstuffs purchased, money collected, and attendance of employees
- Counts money received at the end of each work day and deposits in the bank
- Informs principal and food service supervisor on cafeteria operation
- Maintains a student roster with point of sale deposits
- Performs a back-up of the point of sale equipment
- Maintains student confidentiality regarding Free and Reduced Lunch Program
Job Skills & Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of volume cooking practices
- General knowledge of various food values and nutrition
- General knowledge of food service routines and standards
- Ability to maintain high sanitary standards
- Ability to plan and supervise a cafeteria work force
- Ability to maintain and prepare records and reports
- Ability to perform physical labor (for example: lift, bend, twist, lift arms above head, etc.)
- Ability to qualify under the district's Position Schedule Bond
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to deal effectively with students, school administrators, and working associates
- Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position
Salary Range $23.52/hr to $29.84/hr.
