Creative Solutions in Healthcare is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Payroll to oversee payroll operations across our growing network of skilled nursing and long-term care facilities throughout Texas.
This executive leadership role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, strengthening payroll systems and controls, and supporting operational excellence across a large multi-site organization. Your Impact as Director of Payroll
In this role, you will:
- Lead all payroll operations across a multi-facility organization
- Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing
- Oversee payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations leadership to support organizational goals
- Analyze payroll data, trends, and reporting to improve efficiency and reduce risk
- Oversee payroll audits, tax reporting, and compliance reviews
- Lead payroll system enhancements, integration, and process improvements
- Build and mentor a high-performing payroll team
- Provide strategic guidance and support to executive leadership
- Ensure confidentiality and security of employee payroll information
- Monitor payroll-related budgets, forecasting, and labor reporting
- Oversee multi-facility payroll operations and ensure wage and hour compliance
- Assist with acquisitions, transitions, and payroll onboarding for newly acquired facilities
- Develop scalable payroll workflows to support company growth and operational needs
What Makes You a Great Fit
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive payroll leadership experience
- Has experience overseeing payroll for multi-facility operations
- Possesses strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, garnishments, and wage and hour compliance
- Has experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and payroll integrations
- Demonstrates strong leadership and team development skills
- Has exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Communicates effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
- Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Maintains a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
- Has advanced Excel and payroll reporting experience
- Has experience leading payroll audits and compliance initiatives
- Is detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and process improvement
- Can work independently while driving accountability across teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience strongly preferred
- Experience with high-volume employee payroll processing preferred
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or rapid organizational growth preferred
