We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Commercial Operations Manager to join our Industries division and play a key role in driving performance and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Industries, you will be a trusted commercial advisor, supporting business performance, strategic decision-making, and growth across a diverse portfolio. You will work closely with senior leadership, finance and operational teams to optimise margins, enhance reporting, and deliver impactful commercial insights.
A key aspect of this role includes leading and coordinating mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, from identifying opportunities through to due diligence and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and execution of the Industries commercial strategy
- Drive initiatives to optimise margins, pricing, and return on capital
- Partner with business leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and planning
- Deliver commercial insights, financial modelling, and business case development
- Monitor performance trends and recommend improvements to profitability and efficiency
- Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities aligned to business strategy
- Support end-to-end M&A processes including due diligence and integration
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess commercial, operational and strategic fit
- Maintain acquisition pipeline reporting and market intelligence
- Provide timely and actionable reporting to senior leadership
- Ensure strong commercial governance and compliance across all activities
- Partner closely with Finance to support accurate reporting and decision-making
Qualifications
About You
You are a commercially driven professional with strong analytical capability and a strategic mindset. You thrive in complex, multi-business environments and are comfortable influencing senior stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business or similar
- Proven experience in commercial operations, financial management, or business analysis
- Exposure to M&A activities (highly regarded)
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills (Excel/BI tools)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
