Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Customer Service Representative to join our EHS team at our Notting Hill laboratory. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering outstanding client service while supporting the receipt, registration, dispatch, and coordination of soil, water, and air samples.

You will be the first point of contact for many of our clients, ensuring smooth communication, timely updates, and a consistently high level of service that supports strong client relationships and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sample receipt, dispatch, and client enquiries
  • Receive, register, and track soil, water, and air samples accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain strong client communication, providing updates on sample status, turnaround times, and service issues
  • Build and maintain professional client relationships and record key interactions
  • Prepare or coordinate quotations and support general client service requests
  • Monitor service KPIs and proactively escalate delays or risks
  • Liaise with internal teams (laboratory, sales, and client services) to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Support safe and efficient operation of the sample receipt facility
  • Maintain stock levels of sample containers and consumables
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment
  • Assist with training and support of team members as required

Qualifications

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in a scientific discipline (Diploma or higher) or minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Previous experience in a commercial environmental laboratory or client services role is highly regarded
  • Ability to obtain required certifications and clearances (e.g. White Card, MSIC)
  • This role requires the ability to safely handle samples weighing up to 10–15kg and to stand for extended periods while performing sample receipt and processing duties.
  • Current driver’s licence with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to successfully complete required background and AFP checks
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a client-focused mindset
